Men’s Basketball Signs Daylan Hamilton to NLI

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan men's basketball head coach Clayton Bates announced on Wednesday the signing of Houston, Texas native Daylan Hamilton to a National Letter of Intent for the 2020-21 season.

A 6-3 guard, Hamilton played at Klein Forest High School under head coach Cary Black where he averaged 26 points per game during his final prep season and was named Texas Association of Basketball Coaches' Class 6A First Team All-State. Hamilton was also named District 15-6A Most Valuable Player and All-Region.

During his junior campaign Hamilton was named First Team All-District and guided Klein Forest to state runner-up. Hamilton and Klein Forest finished with an overall record of 19-11 and 11-5 in district play this past season.

"I chose Western Michigan because of the love I felt right away from the whole coaching staff. They were the ones to believe in me from the beginning so I knew right away this was the best option for me to get to where I am trying to go in the future."
