KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the final time in the regular season, the Western Michigan women's basketball team will play inside University Arena, welcoming Ball State for a 2 p.m. contest on Saturday. With a win, the Broncos (17-11, 10-7 MAC) will secure a first round bye in the Mid-American Conference Championship and head directly to Cleveland for postseason play.
Saturday's game will feature $1 general admission tickets while reserved seats are available for $8.
As a result of WMU's victory on Thursday evening at Eastern Michigan, the Broncos enter Saturday owning the No. 4 seed for the MAC Championship while the Cardinals (20-9, 12-5 MAC) are currently seeded second. The top four teams receive first round byes.
Upon entering the arena Saturday, fans will receive the official 2020 "The Zoo" t-shirt while supplies last.
Following Saturday's game, Western Michigan will hold its Senior Day ceremony, recognizing
Chelayne Bailey,
Jillian Fletcher,
Breanna Mobley and
Kamrin Reed.
The four have helped oversee the dramatic turnaround in 2019-20 for the Broncos, who already own six more league wins than a year ago and seven more overall victories. Earlier this season, Mobley became the program's career leader in rebounds while Reed graduated in December with her degree in sports management. Bailey poured in a season-high 18 points at Ball State and has started 26 games after joining the program following her graduation from Syracuse. Fletcher delivered her first steal of the season Thursday at EMU and has played in 42 games since arriving in Kalamazoo after her transfer from West Virginia State.
