KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan volleyball head coach
Colleen Munson announced its 2020 spring schedule on Wednesday with the Broncos playing on four Saturday's this spring including hosting Michigan and Notre Dame.
WMU's spring debut will be on Saturday, March 21 with a match at Michigan State at 1:00 p.m. The Spartans finished last season with an overall record of 15-15 and secured Power Five victories over North Carolina, Auburn and Duke. WMU and Michigan State played last season with the Spartans winning in three sets.
On Saturday, March 28 the Broncos will play against two NCAA Tournament teams from last season, hosting Michigan and Notre Dame. Michigan posted a 21-11 overall record last season and fell to No. 11 Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Notre Dame finished with a 19-10 record and was 12-6 in ACC play. The Fighting Irish fell to UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Broncos return to action the following Sunday for a match-up against Oakland at 2:00 p.m. The Golden Grizzlies were 15-14 and 8-8 in Horizon League play last season.
Closing out the spring on Saturday, April 18 the Broncos will travel to Aquinas College for the Grand Rapids Showcase. WMU kicks off the showcase against Michigan followed by contests against Michigan State and Mid-American Conference in-state foe Central Michigan.
