Women's Tennis Downed by Cincinnati, 5-2

Box Score CINCINNATI, Ohio - Western Michigan women's tennis was defeated by Cincinnati in a non-conference road contest on Saturday afternoon. 

Sophomore Femke Tjon-A-Joe and junior Jeryn Jack teamed up at No. 1 doubles, defeating Ioana Guna and Caroline Morton 6-1. The Bearcats responded by winning the next two doubles matches to take an early 1-0 advantage over the Broncos. 

Cincinnati prevailed in the first three singles matches that concluded to clinch the victory. Reigning MAC Singles Player of the Week, Lindsey Zieglar, put her team on the board with a win over Alexia Coutino, pushing her dual season singles record to 5-1. Junior Valerie Riegraf also picked up a victory for the Broncos, beating Kellie Niehaus in a third set tie break at No. 5 singles. 

Western Michigan will conclude its Ohio road trip by facing Dayton at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
