CLEVELAND - Freshman Lindsey Zieglar has been named the Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week for women's tennis, as announced on Wednesday. 

Zieglar went 2-0 for the Broncos over the weekend in singles play. On Saturday versus Butler, she helped her team earn a victory following a straight set win over Sara Linn (7-6, 6-2). On Sunday against Big Ten opponent Indiana, Lindsey defeated their top returning singles player in Jelly Bozovic in another straight set victory (6-2, 6-3). The native of Daytona Beach, Fla., has started the season with a 4-1 record at No. 4 singles. 

This marks the second time that she has collected MAC Singles Player of the Week honors this season. The Broncos have earned at least a share of this accolade for the first three weeks of the 2020 campaign. 

Western Michigan will head to Ohio this weekend for two more non-conference matches against Cincinnati and Dayton.
