#16 UCLA Defeats Men's Tennis in Chicago

Box Score Chicago, Ill. - Western Michigan men's tennis faced a nationally ranked opponent for the second time this season, falling to No. 16 UCLA in a neutral site non-conference match by a final score of 7-0. 

Senior captain Jannik Opitz took the No. 6 ranked singles player in the nation, Keegan Smith, to three sets. The native of Hildesheim, Germany won the second set in a tie break to extend the contest. Junior Zac Faveri lost in two competitive sets to Eric Hahn at No. 6 singles (5-7, 5-7). In No. 3 singles, sophomore Peter Kuszynski forced a tie breaker in the second set, before falling to Drew Baird in straight sets. 

The Broncos will return home next Tuesday, as they welcome Ferris State to Kalamazoo for a 3 p.m. match.
