Volleyball Releases Spring 2021 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – While the start of the season comes five months later than expected the Broncos are set to be back in action as the Western Michigan volleyball team released its Spring 2021 schedule on Friday.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 spring schedule has the Broncos playing on back-to-back nights, facing the same opponent at the same site. WMU will play 22 regular season conference matches squaring off with each conference opponent twice.

Western Michigan begins its season, Jan. 22-23 at Toledo before its home opener weekend Jan. 28-29 against Bowling Green. The Brown & Gold begin the month of February with a pair of in-state battles. The Broncos head to Ypsilanti for a showdown with Eastern Michigan (Feb. 4-5) before hosting rival Central Michigan, Feb. 11-12.

After a road trip to Oxford, Ohio for a match-up against Miami (Feb. 18-19) the Broncos begin a two-week homestand beginning Feb. 25-26 against Ball State. WMU kicks off the month of March with a home match-up against Buffalo, March 4-5.
The Broncos hit the road for their next five matches beginning March 12-13 at Akron. WMU continues its road swing with a stop in DeKalb to take on Northern Illinois (March 16) before challenging Ohio (March 19-20).

WMU concludes the regular season with three straight home matches against Northern Illinois (March 23) and Kent State (March 26-27). The top-four teams at the end of the regular season will head to the Mid-American Conference tournament at the site of the highest seed (best overall conference record). The MAC Tournament will take place on Friday, April 2 and Saturday, April 3.

All dates are subject to change. Times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Attendance Policy
In accordance with state and local health officials only participants and game day personnel will be permitted to attend Western Michigan University Athletic events inside University Arena for the 2020-21 season.

This protocol will be enforced for all volleyball contests inside University Arena. There will be no admittance for fans, friends or family. The Western Michigan band along with cheer and dance programs will also not be in attendance.
