WMU Set to Host Detroit Mercy, Milwaukee This Weekend

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the midst of its season-long five-game homestand the Western Michigan men's basketball team hosts Detroit Mercy on Saturday, Dec. 12 followed by Milwaukee on Sunday, Dec. 13 inside University Arena.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan (1-2) hosts Detroit Mercy and Milwaukee this weekend and is coming off a 62-42 victory over Adrian College on Monday. The win for the Broncos marked the first career victory for head coach Clayton Bates.

Big Week for the Big Fella
It's been quite a week of games for sophomore center Titus Wright. Wright notched his first career double-double against No.8 Michigan State on Saturday with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Wright followed that up with a career-high 17 points against Adrian College.

Lockdown Defense
Western Michigan ranks second in the Mid-American Conference in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 62.3 points per game.

Balanced Offense
WMU has shown a balanced offense in 2020-21 with six players averaging in double figures. The Broncos are led by sophomore guard B. Artis White at 14.3 points per game followed by fellow sophomore Titus Wright at 13.7 points per game

Hand Down, Man Down
The Broncos lead the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (.410) and have two players ranking in the top five in three-point field goal percentage:

Sweet Lee
Senior Greg Lee has been a great addition to the Bronco offense during the early portion of the 2020-21 season. Lee has started in all three games for the Broncos and is averaging 6.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

On the Horizon
Following it's weekend match-ups, Western Michigan will host in-state rival Central Michigan in its MAC opener on Friday, Dec. 18. The Broncos will then square off with Ball State on Tuesday, Dec. 22 before taking their holiday break.
