KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2020-21 season on Monday afternoon.
 
The season will be separated into two parts between the "Pod" in Omaha, Neb., and then at traditional conference travel schedule in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
 
The Broncos open the pod against St. Cloud State on Dec. 1 and play the Huskies again on Dec. 9. WMU also plays a pair of games against the host Mavericks on Dec. 3 and 18, two against Colorado College on Dec. 5 and 11. WMU and North Dakota go head to head on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. The Broncos and Denver play on Dec. 15 before Western Michigan closes out its pod schedule against the Pioneers again on Dec. 19. All games at the pod will be available on NCHC.tv, with package details to be released soon.
 
Western Michigan's travel schedule opens up with four straight games against Miami. The RedHawks come to Lawson Ice Arena on Jan. 2-3 and the Broncos head to Oxford, Ohio on Jan. 8-9. WMU welcomes SCSU on Jan. 15-16 before heading to Minnesota-Duluth for a three-game series on Jan. 21, 22 and 24. The Broncos stay on the road and head to St. Cloud State on Feb. 5-6 before returning home to host the Bulldogs in a three-game series on Feb. 11, 12, and 14. Western Michigan closes out the regular season with a home-and-home series against Miami. WMU hosts MU on Feb. 26 and travels to the RedHawks on Feb. 28.
 
The NCHC Quarterfinals will take place on March 12-14 with the top four in the league standings hosting. The NCHC Frozen Faceoff semifinals will take place on March 19 and the championship game on March 20, both at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
