Greg Lee, junior
William Boyer-Richard and redshirt junior
Jason Whitens will serve as the team's captains for the 2020-21 season.
Junior
William Boyer-Richard has played in 59 games for the Broncos, making 18 starts. Last season Boyer-Richard played in 27 games and averaged 2.6 points per contest. A 2019 Academic All-MAC selection, Boyer-Richard registered a season-high 15 points on Feb. 1, 2019 against Central Michigan.
For his career redshirt junior
Jason Whitens has played in 48 games and made 29 starts. Returning from injury last season, Whitens played in all 32 games last season and ranked second on the team at 4.3 rebounds per game. Whitens also ranked third on the team with 42 offensive rebounds.
The third captain for the Broncos will be senior forward Gree Lee who transferred to Western Michigan after playing the last three seasons at CSU Bakersfield. Last season Lee played in 30 games, making 21 starts and averaged 6.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. The 6-9 forward shot 43 percent from the field and knocked down 16 three-pointers.
The Broncos begin the season on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Butler inside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. on FS1.
