WMU Releases Updated 2020 Football Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The revised 2020 Western Michigan football schedule was released by the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday. The Broncos are set to play six conference games beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Akron.

Western Michigan opens the 2020 campaign against its lone crossover opponent, traveling to Akron on Wednesday, Nov. 4. It's just the 18th meeting all-time between WMU and Akron and the first since 2017.

The Broncos first game inside Waldo Stadium takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 11 against MAC West foe Toledo. Following its tilt with the Rockets, WMU will travel to Mount Pleasant for a showdown with in-state rival Central Michigan on Wednesday, Nov. 18. It will be the 91st meeting of the "Battle for the Cannon" trophy.

Last season WMU defeated CMU 31-15 inside Waldo Stadium and has won seven of the last nine meetings against the Chippewas. Western Michigan will play its first Saturday contest on Nov. 28, welcoming west-division foe Northern Illinois.

WMU begins the month of December with its final home game of the regular season on Saturday, Dec. 5 against Eastern Michigan. The Broncos have won five of the last six contests against the Eagles. WMU concludes the regular season on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Ball State.

The 2020 Marathon MAC Football Championship game will be held on Friday, Dec. 18 inside Ford Field.
