CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sophomore
Femke Tjon-A-Joe has been named the Singles Co-Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Tjon-A-Joe went 2-0 at #1 singles on the week for the Broncos, with both of her wins coming in straight sets. On Monday, she defeated 2019 All-Horizon League honoree Klara Mrcela from Cleveland State (6-4, 6-3) to give her team a 3-2 lead in the match. On Friday, against the defending Big East Tournament Champions from DePaul, Femke beat another all-conference selection from last season in Alina Kuzmenkova (6-3, 6-3).
This marks the first Singles Player of the Week honor for Tjon-A-Joe, who picked up two Doubles Team of the Week awards with

Western Michigan has already tied its MAC weekly awards total from last season, after winning the first Singles Player and Doubles Team of the Week accolades for 2020 last Wednesday.
The Broncos will head to the Hoosier State for a pair of non-conference contests against Butler on Saturday, February 1 and Indiana on Sunday, February 2.
