Davis Signs Pro Contract to Play in Czech Republic

KALAMAZOO, Mich.  – Former Western Michigan men's basketball standout Josh Davis has signed a professional contract to play with Sluneta Usti nad Labem, a professional team based in the Czech Republic that plays in the top division of the NBL.

Davis played for the Broncos from 2015-18, playing in 116 games and making 62 starts. For his career Davis averaged 6.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while totaling 113 assists, 37 blocks and 76 steals.

During his senior campaign, Davis registered five double-doubles and recorded 18 games in double figures with two 20-point games. In 2018 the Detroit, Mich., native tied an Emerald Coast Classic record for field goal percentage in a game, going 9-for-9 from the field vs. Southern University.

It was a breakout junior season for Davis in 2017, leading the Broncos with 6.3 rebounds per game while ranking second on the team with 10.7 points per game. Against Akron, Davis went a perfect 10-of-10 from the field and became just the fourth player in Mid-American Conference history to shoot 100 percent from the field.

Sluneta Usti nad Labem is a professional basketball club based in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. The club was founded in 1992 and currently plays in the top division NBL. Last season, Sluneta finished sixth in the NBL standings with an overall record of 13-9.
