KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Thursday, Western Michigan men's basketball head coach
Steve Hawkins announced the signing of guard Rafael Cruz Jr., to a National Letter of Intent.
Cruz Jr. joins B Artis White, Chase Barrs and Titus Wright as part of the Broncos 2019 recruiting class. Cruz Jr. will be eligible for the Broncos this fall.

Last season Cruz Jr., played at Triton College in River Grove, Ill., guiding the Trojans to 30-4 overall record and a NJCAA Region IV Division Championship. Cruz Jr. played in 32 games, starting 21 for the Trojans and averaged 12.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
The 6'3 guard shot 47.9 percent from the floor, 35.2 percent from three and 77.6 percent from the free-throw line. Cruz Jr. registered seven 20-point performance including a career-high 28 points against Rock Valley College. Cruz Jr. also neared a triple-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists against Joilet Junior College.
Under head coach Marvin Williams at Von Steuben Metro Science High School, Cruz Jr. averaged 20.1 points and 10.0 assists per game.
