CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the 2019 women's tennis awards Thursday, April 26, with Western Michigan women's tennis senior co-captains

Melina Lyubomirova receiving All-MAC laurels.Â
Melina Lyubomirova earns her second career All-MAC honor as a second team honoree last season. Lyubomirova is the first Bronco to represent WMU on the first team since 2011, joining Nini Sujashvili. The native of Sophia, Bulgaria held down the No. 1 singles spot for the Brown & Gold during the regular season with a 10-9 overall record, including a 4-3 mark during conference play. At No. 2 doubles, she turned in a 15-3 record while going 6-1 in the MAC with partner
Femke Tjon-A-Joe.Â

Denise Azcui went 5-2 during singles play in the MAC along with a 12-8 overall dual-match record en route to being tabbed with her first career All-MAC award. Competing at the No. 3 doubles spot, Azcui notched a 9-5 overall record.Â
Western Michigan (12-10 overall; 4-3 MAC) earned the No. 3 seed for the upcoming MAC Tournament in Buffalo, N.Y. April 26-28 and will play host school, No. 6 seed Buffalo on Friday, April 26 in the quarterfinal round at 2 p.m.
