JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the third straight game the Western Michigan Baseball team scored in double figures to defeat North Florida, 10-1 in game one of its three-game series on Friday night.
WMU racked up 17 hits, extending their streak of games with double digit hits to seven. The Brown and Gold saw nine different batters register hits, while six Broncos registered multi-hit games.
Senior
Jesse Forestell finished a triple away from the cycle as the senior catcher drove two in on a first inning single, a double down the right field line in the fifth, and hit his fourth home run of the season over the right field fence in the seventh.
Forestell had three RBI's on the night and now has 17 on the season, tying him with redshirt sophomore

The senior lefty was helped out by his defense behind him, as the Brown and Gold combined for three double plays, and only committed one error on the night. WMU ranks 14th in the nation in fielding percentage.
Freshman
Dane Ambrustmacher came in relief in the eighth inning, sitting down all six batters he faced and striking out three.
The Broncos didn't wait long to jump on the scoreboard, stringing together three straight singles to begin the game, including a
Jesse Forestell two RBI single to take the lead in the top of the first.

The Ospreys strung together three singles to begin the bottom of the second, cutting into the WMU lead, 3-1. Modrzynski struck out back-to-back batters with one out and the bases loaded to retire the threat.
Senior
Jimmy Roche returned to the Bronco lineup after missing the last four games and sent a ball over the video board on the first pitch of the top of the fourth, increasing the lead for the Brown & Gold to 4-1. Fellow senior
Nate Grys connected on his first home run of the season in the top of the fifth inning to extend the Bronco lead to 6-1.
WMU scored another run in the top of the sixth, two in the top of the seventh and one in the ninth to secure its fourth straight victory and improve its overall record to 5-8.
