Schueneman and Conrad Earn NCHC Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Western Michigan hockey team wrapped up the regular season earning two National Collegiate Hockey Conference Player of the Week honors with senior Corey Schueneman being named Bauer NCHC Defenseman of the Week and senior Colt Conrad named Bauer NCHC Offensive Player of the Week.

Schueneman had five points on the weekend in WMU's sweep at Miami. In the opening game of the series he netted the first goal of the game to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead in the first period. He also assisted on the game-winning goal, while finishing the night +3 and helping the penalty kill go 6-for-6. In Saturday's win he tied a career-high with three assists on WMU's second, third and fifth goals of the night.

Conrad netted the game-winning goal and had two assists in Friday's win, also finishing at +3. On Saturday he had the primary assist on the game-winning goal, along with scoring Western Michigan's fourth goal of the night and assisting on the fifth and sixth goals. His seven-point weekend pushed his season total to a career-high 36 on 10 goals and 26 assists.
