Coming off road loss at Ohio University on Saturday, the Broncos seek to end a five-game losing skid versus the Huskies at 7 p.m. (ET).

Western Michigan suffered a fifth consecutive Mid-American Conference loss on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Athens, Ohio at University Arena, falling 70-56. The Broncos got off to a strong start, leading 14-11 after the first quarter, but the Bobcats forced 21 turnovers and used a collective scoring effort to down WMU.
Leighah-Amori Wool led the Brown & Gold with a career-high 21-point performance and
Deja Wimby reached 1,000 career points along with a team-high 11 rebounds.
Meredith Miller notched a career-high five assists, sharing the team-lead with Wimby.
SERIES HISTORY
Monday's contest will mark the 63rd all-time matchup between Western Michigan and Northern Illinois, with the Broncos owning a 38-24 series advantage. WMU has won seven of the last 10 matchups versus NIU, including two in a row last season. In the most previous meeting, Western Michigan defeated the Huskies 85-66 in DeKalb, Ill. during last year's regular season finale to secure the No. 6 seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.Â

Jasmyn Walker leading the way. Wimby leads the Broncos with 12.7 points per game, followed by averages of 11.2 and 10.0 for Wool and Walker, respectively. Wimby ranks third in the MAC with 2.9 steals per contest and sixth with 4.3 assists a game. During conference action, Walker and Wimby share the team-lead with 6.7 rebounds per game.
Kamrin Reed leads the Broncos with a 51.8 field goal percentage versus MAC opponents.
Meredith Miller ranks among the top 10 in the MAC with 23 three-point field goals during MAC competition.Â
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois sits two spots ahead of the Broncos in the MAC West Division standings, coming off a 54-52 win versus Toledo on Saturday to improve to 7-5 in the conference. NIU's senior leader Mikayla Voigt converted a three-point play with 6.8 seconds left in regulation to push the Huskies past the Rockets. Voigt ranks fourth in the MAC, averaging 20.4 points per game while ranking second with 77 made three-point field goals. Despite NIU averaging 49.5 points in its last two matchups, the Huskies average 76.2 points per game - the third-highest in the conference.Â
BALL SECURITY
The Brown & Gold have turned the ball over 301 times through 22 games in 2018-19, which is the fewest in the MAC. In addition, the Broncos have averaged 13.2 turnovers per game, which leads the conference as well.Â
EVERY POSSESSION COUNTS
Five of WMU's 11 conference games have been decided by four points or less. The last time the Broncos had five MAC games decided by four points or less came during the 2008-09 season, as well as the 2004-05 season. The last time a Western Michigan squad had more than five conference games decided by four points or less was in 1995-96, when six games were decided by a four-point margin.Â

Stepping into a starting role this season, senior
Meredith Miller is one of three Broncos to have started in all 22 games this year and leads the team with 43 three-point field goals made (11th/MAC). Miller tallied a career-high seven three-pointers at Ball State (Jan. 26), which ranked tied for third most in a game in Western Michigan history and is the eighth Bronco all-time to tally at least seven three-pointers in a game. She ranks 15th all-time at WMU with 88 career three-point field goals.Â
WIMBY CLIMBS RECORD BOOK
Senior point guard
Deja Wimby continues to move up in the Bronco women's basketball record book. Most recently, Wimby tallied eight points at Ohio University to become the 27th Bronco all-time to reach the 1,000 career point mark. She also became the seventh Bronco in program history to have reached 1,000 points, 400 assists, and 200 steals in a career. Wimby ranks sixth all-time at WMU with 448 assists and sixth in steals with 217. Â
WALKER JOINS 1K CLUB
Jasmyn Walker scored 13 points versus Toledo (Jan. 13) to surpass 1,000 points in her career. After totaling 679 points in two seasons at Valparaiso University, Walker has now accumulated 387 points in 42 games played in Brown & Gold.Â
WALKER SELECTED TO WBCA COACHES PROGRAM
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the class for the 17th annual "So You Want To Be A Coach" program on Jan. 22, with redshirt senior
Jasmyn Walker included. Each member will participate in the three-day workshop with speakers provided by WeCOACH on April 3-5 in conjunction with the WBCA Convention in Tampa Bay, Fla. Walker, a business administration major, is one of 60 student-athletes throughout NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, invited to participate in the program. She will follow in the footsteps of former Broncos Breanna Bankston and Carrie Moore, who both went on to become Division I coaches.

CLIPFELL THIRD IN ALL-TIME IN WINS AT WMU
Head Coach
Shane Clipfell, who eclipsed the 100-win mark versus Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 28), moved into third place in all-time coaching wins at Western Michigan during the victory over Bowling Green (Jan. 5). His 105th career win in his seventh season at the helm passed Jim Hess' (1982-90) career win total.
