Brandon Johnson has been named MAC West Co-Player of the Week.
Johnson shares the weekly honors with Toledo senior forward Willie Jackson. It's the first weekly honor for Johnson and the second of the season for the Broncos.
On Saturday against Manhattan the Chicago, Ill., native collected his third straight double-double and fourth of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a thrilling 59-58 victory. In a team-high 33 minutes of action, Johnson shot 42.8 percent from the field.
The redshirt junior scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half while registering seven of his 11 rebounds in the final 20 minutes of action. Over the past five games Johnson is averaging 16.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per contest, scoring in double figures in each game.
Johnson ranks second on the team and eighth in the MAC at 15.5 points per game while his 9.5 rebounds per contest ranks third in the MAC. Johnson has registered double digits in nine of the 11 games for the Brown & Gold this season.
