Scouting the Broncos
Last season Western Michigan finished with an overall record of 8-24 and 2-16 in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos return 61.3 percent of its scoring from a year ago, the second most in the MAC West and fifth most in the MAC.
Flowers Named Preseason All-MAC West
Junior guard
Michael Flowers was named to the preseason All-MAC West team as voted on by the leagues' coaches. Flowers was one of two Broncos to play and start in all 32 games for WMU last season and averaged 15.7 points per game.
Threes' are worth more than two's
Sophomore
William Boyer-Richard was lethal for the Broncos from beyond the three-point line last season, registering a .493 three-point field goal percentage. The .493 three-point field goal percentage was the second highest in a single-season in school history.
Starting Off on the Right Foot
Western Michigan has won eight straight home openers and has won each of the past three regular season openers. Since 2011, the Broncos are 5-3 in the opening game of the season.

Three student-athletes are chasing 1,000 points in their careers and have the chance to eclipse the 1k mark this season. Redshirt junior
Brandon Johnson is 476 points away while Flowers is 420 points away. Junior

MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
Western Michigan was picked to finish fifth in the MAC West in the preseason coaches' poll with 23 votes. The Broncos were picked ahead of in-state rival Eastern Michigan while Toledo was picked to win the west division.
Scouting the Opponent
Last season under first year head coach Heath Schroyer, McNeese State recorded an overall record of 9-22 and was 5-13 in the Southland Conference. The Cowboys are led by preseason All-SLC guard Roydell Brown who in 23 games last season led McNeese State with 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
