WMU Begins Three-Game Road Swing Friday at Oklahoma State

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball team will begin an important three-game road swing on Friday, Nov. 22 when its travels to Stillwater, Okla., for a match-up against Oklahoma State.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan is off to its best start since 2012-13 campaign with an overall record of 4-1. The Broncos are winning by an average of 17.7 points this season and rank third in the Mid-American Conference in scoring at 88.2 points per game.

Broncos Against the Big 12
WMU is 0-6 all-time against opponents from the Big 12 conference with its last match-up coming in 2008 against TCU. It will be the first time in program history WMU has squared off with Oklahoma State.

Score More Points than the Opponent
Through the first five games this season the Broncos have totaled 441 points, the most through the first five games in program history. WMU has scored over 100 points in two of its five contests, marking the first time WMU has had two games over 100 points in a single-season since 1999.  

Flowers A Walking Bucket
Junior guard Michael Flowers leads the MAC and ranks 31st in the NCAA with 21.4 points per game. Flowers' 107 total points ranks ninth in the nation while his 15 three-pointers is the 28th best mark in the NCAA.

WMU Receives Votes in CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll
This past week, Western Michigan became one of seven MAC schools to receive votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll.

Free For a Reason
Heading into Friday's contest, WMU ranks first in the NCAA in free-throws made (129) and free-throws attempted (169). The Broncos are shooting 76.3 percent from the charity stripe this season.

Bench Production
The Broncos have scored 20 or more points off the bench in four of the five games this season. WMU had 20 points off the bench in just six games last season and recorded a season-high 42 on Tuesday against Alma College.

Scouting Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State heads into Friday's contest with an overall record of 4-0 with three of the victories on its home floor. On Sunday the Cowboys defeated Yale, 64-57 behind a 19-point performance from senior Lindy Waters III.

Waters III leads the Cowboys with 14.0 points per game while Cameron McGriff leads OSU in rebounds, averaging 6.8 per game. As a team the Cowboys are scoring 71.5 points per game and are shooting 44.1 percent from the field.
