CLEVELAND, Ohio – Western Michigan senior running back LeVante Bellamy has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week following the Broncos' 35-31 win against Ball State this past Tuesday, announced the league office Monday.

The selection marks the seventh for Western Michigan this season as Bellamy picks up his second honor and joins Jon Wassink (Offensive/September 2), Keith Mixon Jr. (Special Teams/September 2), Treshaun Hayward (Defensive/September 16 & October 28) and Drake Spears (Defensive/October 14). The MAC selection was the second of Bellamy's career and his second of the campaign, following his October 28 accolade.

Bellamy capped his home career in style, rushing for 157 yards and three touchdowns to help power the Bronco offense. He ran for the game-winning touchdown with 1:05 remaining and added one-yard and 16-yard scores earlier in the contest. He tops the country with 20 rushing scores this year, the second most in a year in program history.

A 5-9, 190-pound Indianapolis, Ind., native, Bellamy has scored two or more TDs in six of this year's 10 games, including each of the last four contests. In the fourth quarter alone against Ball State, Bellamy carried the ball 13 times for 86 yards (6.12 ypc) and two touchdowns in guiding the Broncos back from 24-21 and 31-28 deficits. Both of his fourth-quarter touchdowns regained the lead for WMU. For the game, Bellamy's 31 carries ended in a first down or touchdown 10 times (32.3 percent).

The MAC's other weekly honors included Kent State's Dustin Crum (East Offensive Player of the Week), Miami's Sterline Weatherford (East Defensive Player of the Week) and Sam Sloman (East Special Teams Player of the Week), Toledo's Jamal Hines (West Defensive Player of the Week) and Ball State's Malik Dunner (West Special Teams Player of the Week).

The Broncos return to action Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Ohio. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
