Women's Soccer Falls in OT at Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team fell at Buffalo, 2-1, in overtime on Sunday afternoon at UB Stadium.

Buffalo's Kaitlyn Walsh scored just 59 seconds into the overtime period to give the Bulls the win, with assists to Marcy Barberic and Kara Daly.

The Bulls outshot the Broncos 23-7 overall on the day, with Maggie Rogers making 11 saves on the day, nearly matching her career high of 13.

Sophomore Morgan Otteson netted her Mid-American Conference leading ninth goal of the season to put the Broncos up 1-0 in the 33rd minute.

WMU (6-8-1, 4-3-1 MAC) held the lead through the half and up until the 82nd minute when Taylor Caridi's first goal of the season tied it up at 1-1. Hannah Callaghan and Tess ford both assisted on the game-tying goal.

Otteson led all Broncos with four total shots, landing three on target. Bailey Korhorn, Lydia Bajema, and Grace Labadie also recorded shots in the game.

Western Michigan is winding down the regular season, hosting Toledo on Thursday at 4 p.m. and then welcoming MAC leaders Bowling Green on Sunday. The Broncos will celebrate its nine-member senior class prior to the start of the game against the Falcons.
