"Overall I think we had a very good weekend," said head coach
Ryan Tomlinson. "We got to play with a couple new doubles teams and see what those were looking like."
Freshman
Lindsey Zieglar, sophomore
Kaitlyn Rogosch and senior
Gabriela Slavova went 2-1 in singles respectively. Rogosch was 2-0 in doubles play with two different partners.
The Broncos went 7-1 in singles on Friday, which included a victory for sophomore
Femke Tjon-A-Joe, who defeated Mayya Perova from Milwaukee after winning the third set tie-breaker by a score of 11-9.
As a team overall, Western Michigan went 20-7 in singles and 9-5 in doubles over the three days of competition.
"Anytime you can end a fall tournament with 29 wins and 12 losses it's a good weekend," Tomlinson remarked. "We've got some things to work on moving forward, but the two weeks that we have before our next fall tournament will help that."
The Broncos will compete at the Roberta Alison Invite next month in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
