KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the first time since Nov. 27, 2017, the Western Michigan hockey team is back in the nation's top 10, coming in at 10 overall in the US College Hockey Online poll released on Monday.
WMU (13-6-1, 6-3-1-1 NCHC) jumped up four spots from last week and also rank in at 11th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Broncos are riding high off a sweep of National Collegiate Hockey Conference rival Miami, beating the RedHawks 4-3 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.
Western Michigan is currently in the midst of its longest unbeaten streak since the 2010-11 season. The Broncos are 9-0-1 in the last 10 games, boasting the current longest unbeaten streak in the nation. The streak will be put to the test this weekend as Western Michigan travels to No. 2 St. Cloud State on Friday and Saturday. Both games can be seen live on NCHC.tv and Fox Sports North +, with Friday's game dropping the puck at 8:07 p.m. and Saturday's at 7:07 p.m.
