KALAMAZOO, Mich. – For the fifth time under head coach Andy Murray, the Western Michigan hockey team will enter a season ranked in the top 20, coming in at 19 in the USCHO.com Preseason Poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Broncos received 109 points in the poll, placing them just six behind Michigan Tech and 11 ahead of No. 20 Northern Michigan. WMU is one of five teams from the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
WMU was also voted to finish in fourth place in NCHC's annual preseason media poll. The Broncos received 121 votes overall, finishing with six more than fifth place Denver.
