                     LAS VEGAS – The games have been announced for the 2019 Ice Vegas Invitational, with Western Michigan opening the tournament against Connecticut on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena, home of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.
The second game of the tournament will pit St. Lawrence against Air Force at 11:30 p.m. ET. The championship and third place games will be on Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET and 11:30 p.m. ET. This is the second Ice Vegas Tournament, with Arizona State defeating Michigan Tech, 3-2, in last year's final.
UCONN finished in fifth place in Hockey East last season, posting a 15-19-2 overall record and an 11-12-1 record in conference play.  The Huskies ended their season in the Hockey East Quarterfinals after being swept by Boston College. The Falcons finished in a three-way tie for third in Atlantic Hockey after going 13-11-4 in conference play and 23-15-4 overall. After winning the Atlantic Hockey Tournament, Air Force upset the overall No. 1 seed St. Cloud State in the NCAA Tournament before falling to eventual National Champions, Minnesota Duluth, in the NCAA West Regional Final. The Saints went 8-27-2 overall and finished last in ECAC.
