Last Weekend Recap
This past weekend at the UMKC Invitational the Broncos went 1-2, registering a .202 attack percentage along with 29 blocks and 13 service aces. On day one WMU fell to Austin Peay in three sets and host school UMKC in four sets before concluding the invitational with a four set victory over South Dakota State.  

Murphy Rising Up the Record Books
Senior Mary Murphy recorded 91 assists over the weekend at the UMKC Invitational and moved into fourth all-time at Western Michigan in career assists with 3,482. Against South Dakota State, Murphy notched her first double-double of the season with 45 assists and 13 digs.  

Bontrager Named to UMKC Invitational All-Tournament Team
Sophomore Rachel Bontrager was named to the UMKC Invitational All-Tournament team after registering 48 kills in three matches. Bontrager leads the Mid-American Conference with 4.36 kills per set.

Home Sweet Home
Since 2005 the Broncos are 11-2 in home openers and have won five of the last six.

It's a Block Party
In three matches the Broncos have recorded 29 blocks, averaging 2.6 blocks per set. Sophomore Jordan White leads the Brown & Gold with 10 while freshman Sammi Labolle ranks second on the team with nine.  

Scouting Chicago State
Chicago State enters Tuesday's contest with an overall record of 1-2 after competing this past weekend at the Cal Molten Classic in Berkeley, California. The Cougars lost to host school California and Colgate before defeating Rutgers in three sets.

Bontrager Named Preseason All-MAC West
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Bontrager was named to the preseason All-MAC West team on Wednesday. Last season, Bontrager played and started in all 31 matches and led the team with 3.41 kills per set en route to being named to the MAC All-Freshman team.

Broncos Picked Second in MAC West
The Mid-American Conference released its preseason coaches' poll on Wednesday with the Broncos being picked to finish second in the west division while also receiving two votes to win the conference tournament.
