BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Western Michigan volleyball team earned a straight-set victory (25-11, 25-11, 25-21) at Buffalo on Saturday to earn a weekend sweep over the Bulls.

Leah Richmond registered a double-double for the second straight match after handing out 32 assists and collecting a team-high 12 digs to help the Broncos hit a season-best .317 in the contest.
Mary Clare Brusek led the WMU attack with 13 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, while
Amanda Glanton added eight kills and hit .438. Glanton also anchored the defensive effort with six blocks (3 solo, 3 assists).
Reeghan Boyer recorded double-digit digs for the fourth consecutive contest, picking up 11.
Western Michigan was out of the gates quickly, as it raced out to a 12-3 start. With the margin at 14-5, WMU reeled off five in a row to boost the cushion to 19-5, and cruised from there to a 25-11 opening-frame win.
The Broncos kept the momentum going to start the second, tallying seven of the frame's first nine points. Buffalo worked the margin down to two, 9-7, but Western Michigan answered with seven in a row to extend its advantage to 16-7. At 19-10, the Brown and Gold put together a 6-1 run to put the frame away and take a 2-0 edge into the break.
WMU got off to a hot start once again in the third, grabbing an early 8-3 edge. The Bulls fought back, closing the gap to one, 14-13. After UB once again drew to within one at 20-19, the Broncos tallied the next three points to build a 23-19 cushion. A key kill by Glanton got the visitors to match point, and a Buffalo error then sealed the victory for Western Michigan.
