Bronco Baseball Summer Ball Update

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sixteen Western Michigan baseball players have completed a little over a month of play in summer collegiate baseball leagues around the country as the 16 Broncos span across eight teams in six different leagues.   
Here's a look at how the Broncos are doing with their respective teams this summer:

GREAT LAKES SUMMER COLLEGE LEAGUE
Muskegon Clippers

Blake Dunn
Has made 11 appearances on the mound, pitching 12.2 innings with six saves and 13 strikeouts. At the plate, Dunn his hitting .280 which ranks sixth on the team along with two doubles and 17 runs scored. He has also registered eight RBIs and nine stolen bases.

Jimmy Roche
Roche leads Clippers with a .378 batting average, which ranks ninth in the Great Lakes League. Roche has recorded five home runs, 13 RBIs, four doubles and 15 runs scored. Roche ranks second in the league in home runs and has earned a hit in nine of his last 10 contests.

Conner Henderson
In 11 games, Henderson has totaled five runs scored and four doubles along with seven stolen bases. At the plate, Henderson has one double and has drawn seven walks.

Lake Erie Monarchs
Brenden Lovell
Lovell has made a team-high seven appearances on the mound with 14.0 innings of work. Lovell has registered a 3.21 ERA which ranks first on the Monarchs to go along with eight strikeouts.

Sean O'Keefe
In 19 games played, O'Keefe leads the team and ranks third in the GLL with a stellar .400 batting average. O'Keefe has recorded eight doubles, one home run and a team-high 14 RBIs while having a .600 slugging percentage.

Jack Huisman
Huisman has recorded 7.0 innings of work on the mound in five appearances for the Monarchs and has struck out eight batter. On June 20, Huisman has his best outing going 2.1 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four in 13 batters faced.

Saginaw Sugar Beets
Cooper Marshall
Marshall ranks second on the team with a .360 batting average in 20 games played. Marshall has scored 16 runs to go along with two doubles, two triples, two home runs and 13 RBIs. Marshall has a .520 slugging percentage and a .484 on-base percentage.

Ryan Missal
In 19 games, Missal is hitting .225 with 15 runs scored, one double, one triple, two home runs and nine RBIs. For the Sugar Beets, Missal has a staggering .661 OPS and a .362 slugging percentage.

Connor Charping
Charping ranks fourth in the GLL with a .400 batting average and second in the league in RBIs with 21. Charping has also recorded 16 runs scored, three doubles and one triple. Charping has 16 stolen bases and has recorded a hit in five of the last seven games.

PROSPECTS LEAGUE
Chillicothe Paints

Zach Mehelich
Mehelich has made eight appearances on the mound for the Paints, registering a 2-2 record with a 3.17 ERA. Mehelich in 11.1 innings of work has 14 strikeouts.

Chris Modrzynski
Modrzynski on the mound has recorded a 1-2 record with a 3.22 ERA in five starts for the Paints. Modrzynski in 30.2 innings has collected 18 strikeouts. In his last victory the LHP went 7.0 innings, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out five.

Drew Devine
Devine in 18 games played is hitting .206 with 10 runs scored, three doubles, one triple and seven RBIs. Devine has collected five stolen bases and has a .359 on-base percentage and a .286 slugging percentage.

HAMPTONS COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE
West Hampton Aviators

Ethan Hajdukovic
In 20 games, Hajdukovic has a .260 batting average with nine runs scored, six doubles, two home runs and 10 RBIs. Hajdukovic ranks fifth on the team with a .425 slugging percentage. The Fremd, Ill., native has a perfect fielding percentage in 166.1 innings at first base.

Tyler Thorington
In seven appearances on the mound including one start, Thorington has a 1-0 record with a 2.45 ERA with 18 strikeouts. In 14.2 innings, Thorington has struck out at least one batter in five of his seven appearances.

NORTHWOODS LEAGUE
Madison Mallards

Jesse Forestell
Forestell in 21 games is hitting .239 with 10 runs scored, two doubles, four home runs and 12 RBIs. His four home runs rank third on the team as the Mallards registered the best record in the Northwoods League during the first half of the season. Forestell also has a .448 slugging percentage.

M.I.N.K LEAGUE
Jefferson City Renegades

Logan Hudson
Hudson was named an MINK League All-Star, raking second on the Renegades with a .395 batting average in 22 games played. Hudson has a team-high 23 runs scored to go along with five doubles, two home runs and 17 RBIs. Hudson also has a .531 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage.

Justin McIntyre
McIntyre in 18 games is hitting .308 with 16 runs scored, two doubles and seven RBIs. McIntyre has been lethal on the base paths, registering a team-high 14 stolen bases.

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE
Vermont Mountaineers

Nate Grys
Grys has played in 12 games for the Mountaineers and leads the team with three home runs and 12 RBIs. Grys has a staggering .314 batting average and leads the team with a .608 slugging percentage.
