Bronco fans are invited to enjoy New Year's Eve at University Arena. A kids station will be available with grape juice, party hats, crafts, bubbles, glow sticks, and a party booth. At halftime, a countdown and a toast will celebrate 2019.Â
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan capped off its Florida trip Dec. 16-21 with a 69-50 victory over Florida A&M on Friday, Dec. 21 at the Stetson University Hatter Classic in DeLand, Fla. The Broncos went 2-1 on the trip with a win over Florida Atlantic along with a loss versus North Dakota. During game two of the Hatter Classic, WMU set a season-high with 11 threepoint field goals and 19 assists while a collective scoring effort guided the Brown & Gold to victory. All 10 Broncos who saw playing time contributed in the scoring column.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
The Broncos head into Monday's contest with an overall record of 5-5 after coming off a 2-1 trip in Florida. Western Michigan is led by senior point guard
Deja Wimby, who leads WMU with 12.5 points per game as well as 35 assists (8th/MAC) and 29 steals (2nd/MAC). Redshirt senior
Jasmyn Walker leads the Broncos with 64 rebounds, averaging 6.4 per game (7th/MAC).
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Saginaw Valley State, NCAA Division II members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), is off to a 1-8 start to its 2018-19 campaign and is set to close out the calendar year with matchups at Hillsdale (12/30) and at Western Michigan while searching for its first win in three games. The Cardinals' sole victory of the season came at Lake Superior State University (12/6), winning 73-67. Senior forward Abby Duffy leads Saginaw Valley with an average of 15.6 points per game along with 11.0 rebounds per contest.
CLIPFELL REACHES 100-WIN MARK
Head Coach
Shane Clipfell, in his seventh season at Western Michigan, earned his 100th career victory at the helm of the Bronco women's basketball program on Nov. 28 during the win over Eastern Kentucky. He has led WMU to at least 17 wins in the past four seasons and is just the second coach in Western Michigan women's basketball history to record four-straight winning seasons, matching Fran Ebert's streak from 1974-78.

Western Michigan has forced its opponents to an average of 18.2 turnovers per game, forcing double-digit turnover numbers in all 10 games. WMU forced a season-high 27 forced turnovers and 15 steals at FAU (12/16). The Broncos have totaled 79 steals, led by
Deja Wimby's total of 29, averaging 3.6 per game.

Senior point guard
Deja Wimby recently eclipsed 400 career assists while tallying three versus North Dakota at the Hatter Classic (12/20), becoming the eighth Bronco all-time to reach the 400 assist club. Wimby also collected 11 steals during the Florida trip and ranks ninth all-time at WMU with 194 career takeaways.
