KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan head football coach Tim Lester has announced that Tim Daoust has been released as the program's defensive coordinator.

Defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator Lou Esposito will take the lead overseeing the Bronco defense for the remainder of the 2018 regular season.

"I appreciate Tim and his family's dedication to the Bronco football family these past two seasons. At this time I felt we needed to go in a different direction," Lester said.

Western Michigan (6-5, 4-3 Mid-American Conference) plays its final regular season game on Tuesday, Nov. 20, taking on Northern Illinois at home at 7 p.m. The Broncos are bowl-eligible for a program record fifth-straight season.
