KALAMAZOO, Mich./TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team finished play at the Roberta Allison Classic at the University of Alabama while wrapping up day two of competition at the Bronco Hidden Duals from West Hills Athletic Club Saturday, Oct. 27.Â
During day two of the Bronco Hidden Duals, WMU went 7-0 with five wins in round two of singles while completing the final round of doubles with two wins.Â

Gabriela Slavova each won their singles matches. Jack, Trupp, and Slavova all finished the tournament 2-0 in singles competition.Â

Elizabeth Trupp both notched their first wins of the weekend as they fell twice in day one. Slavova/Jack defeated Shelby Anderson/Claire Martin of Eastern Illinois 6-1, while Smith/Trupp won 6-2 over Abby Carpenter/Karla Contreras from Eastern Illinois.Â

Kristina Tiraspolsky each competed their respective singles draws. Azcui picked up the sole singles win, defeating Barnickel from Air Force 6-4, 7-6 (5). Lyubomirova and Tjon-A-Joe each fell in consolation finals, while Fevralev and Tiraspolsky also dropped seventh place matches.Â
Lyubomirova & Tjon-A-Joe fell to a pair from Troy in their doubles semifinal draw prior to defeating Bente/Hohnhold from Memphis 6-3 to claim third place in the Mari Muller Doubles Draw. The duo of Azcui & Tiraspolsky dropped a pair of matches against UT-Martin and Wisconsin.Â
"This was a great tournament for the women," said head coach
Ryan Tomlinson on the Roberta Allison Fall Classic. "We got to play really good players that we don't normally see. We competed well and ahd some good results. We'll look forward to competing at home next weekend in our final event of the final season."
The final round of Bronco Hidden Duals singles will get underway tomorrow at 8 a.m. from West Hills Athletic Club.
