KALAMAZOO, Mich.– Western Michigan and Michigan State football have agreed upon future games in East Lansing in 2022 and 2025.

The Broncos will travel to Spartan Stadium to open both the 2022 season (Sept. 3) and 2025 season (Aug. 30). The payout for Western Michigan will be $1.5 million for each game.

Also on the books is a meeting next season, as the two schools had previously agreed to a Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019 game in a 2017 contract for a $1 million dollar payout.

"We are excited to scheduling another series with Michigan State in 2022 and 2025," said WMU head coach Tim Lester. "We have a great deal of respect for their football program and appreciate what an easy Big Ten road trip this is for our Bronco fans and the greater Kalamazoo community."

Western Michigan and Michigan State have faced each other 15 times, including five meetings since 2009. The most recent matchups were in 2017 in East Lansing and in 2015 in Kalamazoo.
