"I am happy that we were able to fight back today and prevail," commented WMU head coach Shane Clipfell. "I give our kids a lot of credit because when we couldn't find the back of the net we found a way to get to the free throw line. Bowling Green is a good team and arguably the most improved team in the MAC from a year ago. Our entire conference season is going to be a dog fight just like we had today."

The Broncos were led by junior Deja Wimby's season-high 18 points, 10 of which coming from the charity strip, to go along with eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. Her junior counterpart Breanna Mobley notched her sixth double-double this season and 25th career on 13 points and 13 rebounds today.

WMU got out to a slow start, scoring just eight points on 3-of-16 shooting in the first 10 minutes while committing eight of its 17 total turnovers. Senior Najee Smith delivered a spark off the bench in the second quarter as the guard nailed two straight three-pointers to help the Broncos pull within ten at the break.

The Brown and Gold shot 37.5 percent in the first half and 36.1 percent for the game. Bowling Green shot a staggering 54.5 percent in the first stanza before going cold in the second hitting just seven field goals of its 25 attempts.

Finding themselves down 50-39, the Broncos soared back with 28 points in the final ten minutes of play. WMU shot 7-of-13 from the hardwood while Wimby converted on eight of her 12 free throw opportunities. Defensively, WMU held the Falcons to just one field goal and eight points in the fourth to seal the 67-58 victory.

Western Michigan's other starters in Marley Hill, Jasmyn Walker and Jordan Walker went a combined 7-for-24, good for 18 points. Senior's LaTondra Brooks and Smith gave quality minutes off the bench for WMU, scoring 12 of 18 Bronco bench points. On the defensive side, the Broncos forced 21 turnovers as the Brown and Gold came away with 26 points off turnovers. WMU was also dominate on the glass, outrebounding BGSU 44-39.

The Broncos hit the road for their first conference road games next week at Buffalo (1/3) for a 7 p.m. tipoff and at Kent State (1/6) for a 4:30 p.m. start time.
