KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan women's soccer team tied Toledo 0-0 this afternoon.
"I think if you look at the game regardless of the score we played a solid game. I thought we moved the ball really well, we created a lot of opportunities and defended really well as a unit." Head coach
Lauren Sinacola said. "Unfortunately, we couldn't find the back of the net."
In the first half the Broncos were able to get some solid shots on goal, WMU outshoot the Rockets 24-9 in the game. Senior midfielder

WMU was able to control a vast majority of the game and created several chances throughout. The Broncos had a 12-5 advantage on corner kicks which led to good looks close to net. When the Rockets had chances the Bronco defense was able hold off the attacks. Redshirt senior goalkeeper
Stephanie Heber made four saves in regular time.Â
In the first overtime Heber made a great breakaway save to extend the game. In the second overtime
Emma Kahn headed a ball toward goal but was saved. The Bronco defense once again fought off the Rockets and were able to clear balls that got in the box. Heber made seven saves total in the afternoon and recorded another shutout, her sixth of the season.Â
"I think this game helps build confidence moving forward but also gives us the opportunity to get better in specific areas." Sinacola stated. "I'm excited to train again on Tuesday because I know this team will use this as motivation and learn from it. They have grown from each outing all season and I know they will come hungry to work on Tuesday."
The next WMU game is against Ball State at home on Thursday, Oct. 5 starting at 4 p.m.
