Junior Tracy Kuhle Named All-MAC Second Team

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Tracy Kuhle, a junior on the Western Michigan women's tennis team, was named to the All-Mid American Conference (MAC) Second Team the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.

"Tracy is very deserving of this honor which is voted on by the other coaches in the league," WMU head coach Ryan Tomlinson said. "To be voted All-Conference in this league is tough to do. There are very good players from all schools."

Kuhle, a Decatur, Ill. native, leads the team in singles wins (25-10) and is tied for the team lead in doubles wins (24-11). She went 7-1 in MAC play and is currently on a four-match winning streak. Heading into the MAC Tournament this weekend, Kuhle has won 10 of her last 11 singles matches and had a nine-match winning streak in doubles play with partner Melina Lyubomirova earlier this season. Kuhle/Lyubomirova won the MAC Doubles Team of the Week four straight weeks in a row this season.

Tracy was named to the All-MAC Tournament Team a season ago and was also named to the All-MAC Academic Team.

Akron sophomore Ariadna Blinova was named the MAC Player of the Year, Bowling Green freshman Paula Comella was named MAC Freshman of the Year and Ball State head coach Max Norris was awarded the MAC Coach of the Year.

The Broncos, who come in as the No. 3 seed, start play in the MAC Tournament on Friday in Oxford, Ohio against No. 6 seeded Toledo at 2 p.m. Follow the Broncos on Twitter @WMUWomensTennis for all updates about the team!
