KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team will have seven individuals at the NCAA Regionals in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. Earning invitations to the event are Jessi Buis, Anna Corbett, Kelsey Hood, Rachael Underwood, Jessie Peszek, Jessi Juncaj and Audry Merritt.
The seven individuals selected is the most for an NCAA Regional in program history. The Broncos sent four last season.
Along with the Broncos' individuals, other teams competing at the Regional will be Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa, Central Michigan and Kent State as well as individuals from Centenary and Ball State.
The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Fort Worth, Texas, April 15-16.
In addition, the event winners at each regional site will advance to the national championships (in that event only) if they are not part of a qualifying team or an all-around qualifier.
