KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan men's tennis defeated conference opponent Northern Illinois 7-0 Friday afternoon at West Hills Athletic Club. The Broncos move to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference. The Huskies are now 14-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC. WMU has now won seven in a row and have won 11 of their last 12 matches.

In doubles, the duo of senior Ruben Greiner and junior Daniel Loebel defeated Carlos Manzanas and Austin Russell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Junior Matt Hamilton and sophomore Maik Steiner defeated Kevin Daun and Georg Lundkvist 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, sophomore Jefta Kecic defeated Manzanas at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1 to put the Broncos up 2-0. At No. 3 singles Maik Steiner defeated Lundkvist 6-2, 6-1. Daniel Loebel clinched the match for the Broncos downing Austin Russell 6-4, 6-1.  Greiner defeated Tome Hjertonsson 6-1, 4-6, 10-4 at No. 4 singles. Freshman Matej Svjetlicic defeated Daun in straight sets at No. 5 singles 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 and Hamilton defeated Louis Hamel at No. 2 singles 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 to complete the sweep for the Broncos.
