The Broncos' defense held the Colonels without a field goal for nearly 7:00 to start the game, but EKU went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line during that stretch to keep the game close. Neither team was able to gain much separation, until WMU went on an 8-1 run to end the first half, helping the team to a 35-29 lead going into the break. The first half featured eight lead changes and five times where the game was tied. The Broncos extended the lead to double-digits in the third quarter, where the team hit three of its six 3-pointers in the game. WMU outscored EKU in every quarter with the exception of the second, where each team scored 19 points.

The WMU offense was very balanced against EKU, as every player that received playing time scored. Redshirt junior Marley Hill led the way, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Senior Meredith Shipman, who saw her 15-game streak of making at least one 3-pointer snapped on Friday against UMKC, finished with 13 points and hit three 3-pointers. Sophomore Deja Wimby filled the stat sheet once again, with eight points, eight rebounds, eight assists and a career-high six steals. Sophomore Breanna Mobley finished one point shy of her second consecutive double-double, with nine points and 10 rebounds while juniors Najee Smith and Aneisha Carlisle each chipped in eight; Carlisle's being a new career high.

WMU's free throw game was key once again, as the team finished 18-of-22. The Broncos shot 41-percent and held the Colonels to 31.8-percent.

The Broncos will hit the road for their next game as well, traveling to Fargo, N.D., to face North Dakota State on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. before returning home for two straight.
