Men's Tennis Announces 2015-16 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team announced its 2015-16 schedule including the complete Mid-American Conference (MAC) lineup. The Broncos are coming off an 18-7 season ending with a second place finish in the MAC. Nine-time MAC Coach of the Year Dave Morin enters his 20th year as the WMU head coach.

The Broncos open the fall schedule at the River Forest Invitational on September 11-13 before hosting the WMU/Vredevelt Invite on September 25-26. WMU then has three straight road tournaments including the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American on October 3-11, the Valparaiso Invite on October 16-18, and ending the road trip with the ITA Midwest Regionals on October 22-26. The Broncos close out the fall schedule by hosting the MAC Invite on October 30-November 1.

The spring season starts on January 15 as the Broncos travel to Indiana, one of the five Top-75 teams on the final 2014-2015 Oracle/ITA poll on the Broncos schedule.

The other four ranked opponents include Drake (32nd), Notre Dame (37th), South Alabama (70th), and Iowa (73).

“We play a bunch of schools that have had success in their conferences recently,” Coach Morin said. “In order to be the best you have to beat the best.”

The Broncos start the MAC season with a pair of road duals at last seasons MAC champion Binghamton on March 19 and at Buffalo on March 20. WMU hosts Northern Illinois on March 25 before hitting the road again for two duals at Binghamton on April 8 and at Buffalo on April 10. The Broncos host Ball State on April 17 and ends the regular season by traveling to Toledo on April 23.
