KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Donald Celiscar led all defenders with 10 tackles at Michigan State, earning him Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week.
Junior defensive back Donald Celiscar (Winter Haven, Fla.) proved to be the best defender on the field for Western Michigan at Michigan State, leading both teams with 10 total tackles in the Broncos 26-13 loss.
Celiscar also added two pass break ups to give him 21 for his career. Celiscar led a pass defense that held its Big Ten opponent to just 116 yards through the air and a 45.9 completion percentage.
Michigan State managed just one offensive touchdown the entire game and it came on the ground. Western Michigan's defense, led by Celiscar, held Michigan State out of the end zone twice despite the Spartans starting drives in Bronco territory.
Western Michigan opens the 75th season of Waldo Stadium this Saturday night at 7 p.m.
