This is the third consecutive season in which WMU will open on the road against a Big Ten opponent. The Broncos have opened the previous two seasons at Michigan (2009) and Michigan State (2010).
WMU is looking for its first season-opening win during the Bill Cubit era. The Broncos' last season-opening win came in 2004 (Tennessee Martin).
WMU is 12-24 in season-openers on the road.
