KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Senior place kicker John Potter was a perfect 5-for-5 on PATs and made good on a 40-yard field goal to earn third Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
Potter (Grand Haven, Mich.) made
good on all five point after attempts, extending his Western Michigan
career record for consecutive PATs made streak to 78 straight. He
was also true on his only field goal attempt, a 40-yard kick to cap the
scoring against Nicholls.
Potter accounted for eight of Western
Michigan's 38 points against the Colonels.
This is the first POTW award for WMU in 2011 after earning eight a season ago.
