DETROIT - The Western Michigan football team arrived in Detroit on Christmas Eve ready for the chance to make history. The Broncos take on Purdue in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl on Dec. 27.
WMU arrived in Detroit at 12 p.m. on Saturday, staying at the Motor City Hotel just blocks from Ford Field where the team will take on Purdue in the Broncos' third bowl game in the past six seasons.
The team had lunch prepared by the MCH staff and relaxed before team meetings and then heading over to Ford Field for the Detroit Lions vs. the San Diego Chargers. The game, which put Detroit in the playoffs for the first time since 1999 had a bit of a WMU flare to it.
Not only are former Broncos Louis Delmas and Tony Scheffler members of the team but former offensive line coach Mike Sullivan is on the staff for San Diego.
We had a chance to chat with Coach Cubit, Drew Nowak, Alex Carder and Jordan White shortly after WMU's arrival.
