PRE-GAME

  • WMU's last win over a defending MAC West champion came against Northern Illinois in 2006
  • WMU's last win over a MAC team coming off a perfect MAC season the year before was in 2000 (Marshall; was 8-0 in 1999)
  • If Jordan White has 10 or more catches and/or 100 or more receiving yards he will be the first Bronco to have five-straight games with both
  • WMU is looking for first win at Huskie Stadium since 2007 (17-13)
  • Mike Sabock is coaching in his third game at Huskie Stadium as a WMU coach after spending 24 seasons with NIU
  • WMU is looking for first 3-0 MAC start since 2008

FIRST QUARTER

  • John Potter matches career long with 45-yd field goal to open scoring
  • Doug Wiggins records first career interception
  • NIU muffs opening kickoff (recovers) and WMU's first punt (WMU recovers)
  • WMU holds NIU scoreless in opening quarter; Illinois and BGSU only teams to score in first quarter on WMU so far in 2011

SECOND QUARTER

  • Ben Armer kicks career long punt of 66 yards
  • WMU improved to 11-for-11 on fourth downs, converting on a fourth-and-6
  • WMU's Johnnie Simon records first career safety; WMU's first since Nov. 5, 2010 at Central Michigan (Paul Hazel/Deauntay Legrier)
  • Carder throws TD to Chleb Ravenell for 15-7 lead; Ravenell's fifth TD reception of the season

THIRD QUARTER

  • WMU outscored 24-0 in the quarter
  • WMU held to two first downs and 33 yards
  • WMU stopped on a fourth down attempt for the first time this season and is now 11-for-12

FOURTH QUARTER

  • Jordan White hauls in 10 catches for the fifth-straight game, setting a new WMU record
  • First time WMU has given up 50 points since 9/15/07 at Missouri and first time against a MAC opponent since 9/10/05 at Toledo
  • Tyler Van Tubbergen throws first career TD pass and Antoin Scriven catches first career TD catch on same play
  • WMU gives up over 600 yards for the first time since 11/7/2009 at Michigan State (602)
  • Drew Nowak blocks fourth kick of career, ranks second all-time at WMU in a career
