WMU vs. Toledo Game Notes

Pregame

-  The entire WMU coaching staff will be wearing patches on their sleeves to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as a part of the "Coach to Cure M.D. Program."

-  WMU is seeking its fifth win in MAC openers under Head Coach Bill Cubit. The Broncos are 4-1 in MAC openers under Cubit.

-  WMU is seeking its 25th MAC win under Cubit.

-  This is the fourth time the Broncos have opened MAC play against Toledo under Cubit, holding a 2-1 record in the previous three meetings.

-  This is the 65th all-time meeting between WMU and Toledo, with Toledo holding a 36-28-0 edge in the series.

-  The Brown & Gold have won the last four meetings, the most recent coming in a 58-26 victory at Toledo last season.

-  The WMU-Toledo series is the second longest in WMU Football history.

-  WMU WR Juan Nunez carries a 22-game reception streak into tonight's action.

-  WMU WR Jordan White has led the team in receiving in each of the first two games this season. Dating back to last season, White has led the team in receiving in four straight games. White needs 107 yards to reach 1,000 for his career.

-  Toledo is seeking its second consecutive road victory in MAC play. The Rockets defeated Ohio 20-13 last week.

-  Tonight's contest features two reigning MAC West POTW winners. Toledo LB Dan Molls is the reigning Defensive POTW and WMU QB Alex Carder is the reigning Offensive POTW.

-  Rockets C Kevin Kowlaski will make his 37th consecutive start.

First Quarter

-  New career-high in tackles for Berry.

-  Second sack of season and career for WMU LB Dex Jones.

-  Third career forced fumble for and first of season for Toledo DE Alex Johnson.

-  WMU LB Dex Jones sets a new career-high in tackles.

-  First career field goal for Toledo K Ryan Casano.

-  First career interception for Toledo CB Desmond Morrow.

-  First career interception for WMU CB Lewis Toler. First interception of the season for the Broncos.

-  Second interception of the night and first career TD for Toledo CB Desmond Morrow.

-  First made field goal on first field goal attempt of season for WMU K John Potter.

-  First career two sack game for WMU DE Paul Hazel

-  WMU WR Jordan White goes over 1,000 career receiving yards on a 12-yard reception from Carder.

-  Sixth career game with 100 yards receiving for White.

-  Career-high in completions for Carder.

Fourth Quarter

-  First rushing TD of career for WMU QB Alex Carder.

-  First interception of season and third career interception for WMU SS Mario Armstrong.

-  WMU WR Juan Nunez with a new season high in both catches and yards.

-  First-career 300-yard passing game for Carder.

-  New career-high in catches for Ponder.

-  Jordan White has set a career-high in receiving yards.

-  New career high in passing attempts for Carder.

-  Second career rushing TD for WMU RB Antoin Scriven. Both have come from a yard out.

-  98-yard kickoff return by Toledo WR Eric Page is a career-long return. It is his first career return TD.

-  First kick return TD allowed by WMU since Andre Jones returned a TD for Akron on Oct. 6, 2007.

-  New career-high in receptions for Juan Nunez.

-  Season-high 17-yard reception for WMU WR Robert Arnheim.

-  Third interception of season for Toledo LB Dan Molls. This is his second consecutive game with an interception.

-  Nunez has gone over 100 yards receiving, giving the Broncos two receivers with over 100 yards on the game. The last time WMU had two receivers go over 100 yards in the same game was Nov. 24, 2009 vs. Ball State. In that game, Jordan White had 121 yards, and Chleb Ravenell added 106.

-  Season-high in catches for Arnheim.

-  Season-long 22-yard reception for WMU WR Trey Smith.

Postgame

-  WMU QB Alex Carder's 64 passing attempts are the most by a Bronco QB since Tim Hiller attempted 62 passes vs. Ball State on Nov. 24, 2009 and is the second highest in school history.

-  Carder's 43 passing completions is a school record.

-  First career 400-yard passing game for Carder. It is the first 400-yard passing game by a Bronco QB since Tim Hiller threw for 410 vs. Central Michigan on Oct. 17, 2009.

-  First career game with 10+ tackles for WMU SS Jamail Berry, who finished with 12.

-  This is the first time this season WMU has had a defender with over 10 tackles. Three different Broncos have led the team in tackling this season.

-  Season-highs in tackles for LB Mitch Zajac (9), DT Drew Nowak (5), DE Freddie Bishop (2).

-  Career-highs in tackles for SS Jamail Berry (12), LB Dex Jones (7), DT Travonte Boles (3) and LB Kyle Lark (2).

-  Five Broncos tied their career high in tackles: DE Paul Hazel (5), CB Maurice Roberts (3), K John Potter (2), DT John Rice (2) and CB Johnnie Simon (1).

-  Career-high two sacks for DE Paul Hazel and three TFL for LB Dex Jones.

-  Second consecutive game with two tackles for WMU K John Potter.

-  Three Broncos set a career high in receptions: Jordan White (13), Juan Nunez (13), and Ansel Ponder (11). White also set a career high in receiving yards with 170.

-  White has now led the team in receiving yards in each of his last five games.

-  Juan Nunez now has a 23-game reception streak.

-  WMU is now 4-2 in MAC openers under coach Bill Cubit.

-  WMU is now 28-33-1 all-time in MAC openers and 15-17-1 in home MAC openers.
