Western Michigan Football at Texas Bowl - Day Three

DAY 1
PRESS CONFERENCE
RODEO BOWL

Sunday brought another full day for the Western Michigan football team.  The Broncos held an hour practice at Delmar High School on Sunday morning for its final full session before the 2008 Texas Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 30.  After practice and meetings, the team loaded buses and headed to Reliant Stadium for the Houston Texans vs. Chicago Bears NFL game.

WMU head coach Bill Cubit and Rice coach David Bailiff were honored by joining the official coin toss at midfield before the kick off between the Texans and Bears.  Both coaches were also interviewed by FSN Houston as yet another pre-game promotion for the upcoming bowl game.  Houston, the Texans and the Texas Bowl committee has done an excellent job promoting and publicizing this bowl game between a pair of 9-3 teams.

The Broncos enjoyed a hard-fought NFL game with the hometown Texans coming out on top, 31-24, to finish the season at 8-8 for the second year in a row.  The team returned to the Hyatt Regency Hotel for some final meetings before dinner and the Best Buy Shopping Spree this evening.  Players will have two hours to scour a Best Buy location that has been closed down only for them.  They will be armed with $300 gift cards to purchase what their heart desires (as long as it can fit in their bags on the plane ride back to Kalamazoo).
