Tim Hiller Earns Third MAC Scholar-Athlete Award of the Season

CLEVELAND - Sophomore quarterback Tim Hiller first male student-athlete in the Mid-American Conference to earn MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors three times this season.  Hiller, a 4.0 business and marketing major, threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns in WMU's 28-19 road victory over Iowa this past Saturday.

It marks the fourth time this season Hiller has thrown for over 300 yards and first time away from Waldo Stadium. This was also Hiller's fourth game with three TD passes with season. He now has the third-most passing yards in a season (2,745) at Western Michigan is 255 passing yards from becoming the second Bronco ever to have 3,000-or-more yards passing in a season.

Hiller hit seven different receivers against Iowa, throwing TDs to two different receivers. His efficiency rating against Iowa was 148.28. Hiller received a helmet sticker for his performance on ESPN's College Game Day Final.

The win was one of note for a few reasons as WMU became the first MAC team to defeat a bowl eligible team from a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) conference and it was the second win in as many meetings over Iowa.  The Broncos now have multiple wins over two Big Ten opponents (Iowa, Michigan State).

WMU closes out the 2007 campaign with a Nov. 24 meeting with Temple in Waldo Stadium at 2 p.m.  The Broncos are 44-24 (.647) in their home finale since the opening of Waldo Stadium in 1939.
