UA-WMU Game Notes

FIRST QUARTER
?Tim Hiller's 52-yard pass to Jamarko Simmons is his longest completion of the season. (Previous long was 48-yards against Toledo).
?Juan Nunez's 25-yard touchdown reception is the first of his career and the longest reception of his career.  That is also the most receiving yards in a game (45) for Nunez (previous high was 23-yards against CCSU).

SECOND QUARTER
?Hiller completed 14 consecutive passes, six of which came in the first quarter.  During that span, Hiller hit seven different Bronco receivers.
?Hiller's 294 passing yards in the first half is the most in a half this season (previously 209-yards in the second half against Indiana).
?A Cody Cielenski fumble recovery makes it 32 straight games where Western Michigan has caused a turnover.

THIRD QUARTER
?An 11-yard completion from Hiller to Herb Martin puts Hiller over 300-yards passing.  That is the third time Hiller has thrown for 300-yards (against Ball State in 2005 and Indiana in 2007).
?Mario Armstrong records his first career interception, returned seven-yards.
?Simmons hauls in a reception to give him 159-yards receiving, the most this season.
?Hiller's 375-yards passing is a career best, and puts him at 10th all-time at Western Michigan.  His previous high was 343-yards against Indiana earlier this season.
?Simmons tied career high in receiving yards (172-yards) with a 13-yard touchdown catch.  His previous career high was in International Bowl against Cincinnati.

FOURTH QUARTER
?21-yard rush by Brandon West is a career high (previous career high was 20-yards September 23rd, 2006 against Temple and previous season high was 16-yards last week against Toledo).
?Akron's Jabari Arthur set a career high in receptions (15) and yards (223). He also moved up to 3rd all-time in receiving yards.
?Londen Fryar's fourth pass break-up breaks his career record, and his fifth break-up breaks Western Michigan's all-time record of four (done 13 times).  Fryar ended finished the game with six pass break-ups, setting the bar high for anyone attempting to break his record.  On Akron's last possession, Fryar broke up three straight passes inside the Bronco five-yard line.
?Andre Jones' 89-yard kick off return to end the game is the first kick off returned for a touchdown against WMU this season.
